It’s November and so that can only
mean one thing: Fall is once again not coming! I had hoped to escape the heat
of San Antonio, only to find that Redlands CA this year was even hotter than
South Texas.
But more seriously, November means
spring registration is nearly at hand. And this year you really need to be
serious about thinking through your plans. Many of you have already declared a
major and will be meeting with your new major advisor for the first time. It is
real important to have a thorough conversation with your new advisor about your
hopes and goals, and how your remaining years at Trinity can be best shaped to
meet these goals. Come to this meeting prepared, not just about classes for the
spring, but already to be thinking about what you might be taking next year.
This is especially important if you are planning on study abroad sometime in
the future. You and your advisor can walk through your next few semesters,
making sure you understand the courses needed for your major and the sequencing
of these classes. more>>

Hello Class of 2017!
Have you been thinking about studying
abroad during your time at Trinity? If
so, be sure to attend the Study Abroad Experience on November 12 at 7 p.m. in Northrup

This program will give you the
opportunity to learn more about the process of applying to study abroad,
directly from the experts in the Study Abroad Office. There will also be
students who have recently returned from studying abroad there to talk more
about their experiences. Look for more information coming soon!
If you missed the first StrengthsQuest
workshop in September, don’t worry! StrengthsQuest 101 will be back on
Thursday, November 6 at 1:45 p.m. in Lightner Tea Room. More information will
be sent out next week. If you haven’t taken the StrengthsQuest Assessment and
are still interested, e-mail me for a code.
See you next month!

The Winter
Making Connections events in hometowns across the country are a great way to
network with alumni – right where you live. A little bit of your time over the
holidays gives you great food, great company and the opportunity to meet a
Trinity alumnus who may be in a career that you would consider the career of
your dreams. Read all about the Winter Making Connections events happening
in early January. And
to prepare, make some business cards to hand out to all the alumni you meet.
See a student business card template online or come to the career workshop, Business Card Crafting, on Wednesday, November 12, at 8 p.m.
in the Woodlawn Room.
