May 2015

Can you believe that you are halfway through your time at Trinity? Doesn’t it seem like yesterday that you arrived on campus for the first time as an awkward first year unsure of just what will happen? Well, before you get too sentimental, let’s make sure you get through finals! Remember that reading days are May 4 and 5, and that finals run May 6-12. You’ve been through finals now three times already so you should know by now what works for you and what does not. Try to keep this knowledge in mind as you prepare for the next couple of weeks. Be sure to get some quality sleeping in, especially the night before the big exam. And be sure to find some time to have fun, get into the gym, or go out for some good food.

I too am coming to the end of what has been a great year at the University of Redlands. I am looking forward to my office in the beautiful CSI building, eating real Texas BBQ, and getting to see all of you again. Be sure to stop by my office (CSI 370G) next fall and tell me how you’re experiencing TU and San
Antonio!

As you head back home or off to summer school or maybe overseas for the summer, ask yourself how you have changed at this halfway point through your undergraduate experience. And maybe even more importantly, ask yourself how you’d like to change and grow over the next two years. Then come back in the fall and make Trinity into the best place it can be for you.

Have a great summer and I hope to see you this fall.

Another semester done, the halfway mark for your Trinity time. Congrats! Remember that along with studying for finals and finishing papers & projects you also need to prepare for both your departure from campus this month and your return in August: clear some clutter, pack some boxes, set some goals for next semester. But have some fun too, including the Late Night Luau on Tuesday, May 5 at 11:55 PM in Mabee. The warm months in front of you may appear endless, but they will fly past. Maintaining relationships over the break may be the most important “summer job” you have, and that begins the first week. Good luck with your exams, have a wonderful summer, and we’ll see you in August!
