Hard to believe but the fall semester of your sophomore year
is nearing its end! And that means once again a slog through Finals Week.
Finals run from December 12-18. Reading days are
December 10 and 11. You know this drill already, and you should have some

Take a break and enjoy some December Distractions! We know
you’ll be studying hard (Ho Ho Ho), trying to finish strong, but also try to find
some time to enjoy three of the best Trinity
Traditions. 1) Get into the holiday spirit at the Christmas Concert,
Dec 5th @ 7:30 in Laurie Auditorium. 2) Attend the Vespers service in
the Trinity Chapel on Dec 7th @ 6:30 then head to Oakmont for the
Holiday Open Houses @ 7:30 (we’ll be at the Tuttle’s, so stop by and say “hi”).
3) Chow down at the Midnight Breakfast
in Mabee on Dec 11th. Good luck with your exams! Stay smart &
stay safe over the holiday; we’ll see you in January. Merry Christmas and Happy
New Year!

Hello
Class of 2017!
The San Antonio Rock & Roll Marathon and Half Marathon will
be run through campus on the morning of December 7, and we’re hoping to get all
of you out there to cheer runners on. You’ll be receiving more information on giveaways, shirts, and directions for
the day of soon.
The end of the semester is just around the corner! As a
reminder, 24 hour quiet hours will begin on Wednesday, December 10. Please be
respectful of your peers and hallmates as you head into reading days and
finals. You will be receiving more information about closing for your RA when
you return to campus after Thanksgiving, but remember that you are expected to
leave campus 24 hours after you last final. The residence halls will close at
noon on Saturday, December 20, and will reopen at noon on Sunday, January 11.
Finally, I’d like to personally invite each of you to Late Night
Breakfast. This is an annual event where professors, faculty, and staff serve
you breakfast before your finals start. This year, it will be at 11:55 p.m. on
Thursday, December 11. I’ll be looking for you there!
I wish the best of luck to you all as you wrap up classes and
tackle your finals. We’ll see you next year!

A Holiday Party with a Purpose
Want an easily accomplished New Year’s Resolution that will help you this year—and the next, and the next, and maybe even lifelong? Attend one of the 14 Making Connections events being held in major cities throughout Texas and the United States between January 7 and 10. Meet alumni and ask for advice. Ask them how they got to where they are today and what steps they took to get there, such as:
· How did they choose their career path?
· Did job shadowing and internships help in their decision?
· Did leadership roles in student organizations help them gain experience?
These are examples of some easy questions you can ask in a relaxed atmosphere while meeting people who want to help you. Cross off one New Year’s Resolution and begin building valuable (possibly lifelong) relationships. Consider Making Connections a holiday party with a purpose. Put it on your list.

Rock ‘n’
Roll Marathon and Kayla Mire Food Drive
For the second straight year the course for the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon winds
through Trinity. Please come out on Sunday, December 7 from
8-10 a.m. and show your Tiger Pride! The 20,000 runners loved the
Trinity leg of the race last year and the Trinity runners REALLY appreciated
the warm reception. This is a huge event for Trinity and is a great opportunity
to show our spirit to a huge crowd!
Please also
support the charity of the Trinity runners virtually or by
making a donation to the Kayla Mire Food Drive the Coates Center December 1-5. By giving food items or Tiger Bucks -- in any
amount -- you will receive a special spirit shirt to wear on race
day. (Click here to learn more directly the connection between the food drive and
our Dean of Students Half Marathon Challenge running
group.)
