Hello Class of 2017!
As we approach the end of the spring semester, I want to congratulate you on all you have done this year. You all made some pretty big decisions regarding your major, and you deserve to celebrate that. So, please mark your calendar for the Major Declaration Celebration on April 30th!
You’ll be receiving more details about this event as it approaches, so keep an eye out for more information.
At this point in the year, many start to think about next year. Moving out of Sophomore College will bring some big changes, so I want to tell you a little more about the Upper Class Area. Next year, you’ll have a Hall Manager overseeing your hall or building. Hall Managers proudly serve as paraprofessional staff by encouraging a fun and respectful community environment and helping residents resolve problems and find resources. The staff member to student ratio in the upper class area is approximately 1:80, providing a more autonomous experience for third and fourth year students. With the increased autonomy, students are encouraged to take ownership of their living environment and create the community they desire. While Hall Managers offer fewer programs than Resident Mentors or Resident Assistants, they are always available if you have any questions or concerns. If you have any questions about next year, feel free to contact me.
Have a great month! I hope to see you all on April 30th!
-Lisa
