Welcome bock
sophomores! I’m sure it’s hard to believe that you are about to start your
second year at Trinity. It seems only like yesterday that
you moved onto campus on that hot August day. Since you’ve been gone the Spurs
made us all proud again with their awesome NBA championship!
There is a lot to
look forward to this year – construction on upper campus is finished for the
time being, and you can navigate your way without having to avoid fences or
dust. You’ll be taking more advanced classes and starting to get some depth in
your chosen area of study. And speaking of that, you’ll be declaring a major
sometime this year, but don’t worry about it now – there’s lots of time to
figure this out and a lot of assistance to help you along the way.
So as you settle
in and reconnect with your friends, you can start to explore new clubs and
opportunities at the Student Involvement Fair on Monday August 25 th.
Remember that Trinity offers a whole lot more than just great classes and a
nice dorm room – get involved as a way to expand your experiences and to escape
from the ordinary routine.
I want to also
let you know that I will be away from campus for most of this academic year. I
have been named an ACE Fellow and will spend the year at the University of
Redlands shadowing the President and his cabinet. But I will continue to serve
as your Marshal, sending in regular newsletter posts, occasionally visiting the
beautiful TU campus, and you can still reach me at sbachrach@trinity.edu if you have any
questions or concerns.
Have a wonderful
year!
Dr. Bachrach
Class Marshal
